About The Author

So, you want to know a little bit more about me?  Well, the details of my life are quite inconsequential.  My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe, with webbed feet--no, I'm totally kidding.  Obviously, I stole that from Austin Powers.

The truth is much less interesting.  I was born and spent the first few years of my life in New York.  My family moved to suburban Kansas City when I was kid and I've lived there ever since.  The weather sucks, but it's a really nice area.  Check it out sometime.

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2011 with a BA in English Literature.  For a while, I thought I wanted to be a teacher, so I went ahead and completed a post-bachelor program for my Kansas Teaching License.  As of right now, though, that may have been a massive waste of time and money because I can't think of anything I want to do less.  What can I say?  A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets.

Yeah, I stole that from Titanic.

Writing, however, has been an obsession of mine since I was seven or eight years old.  You can ask my parents, since they were the ones who read my very first short stories.  Nowadays I have half a dozen novels in the works, but since those guys take a backseat to my actual paying work, I hardly ever get a chance to work on them.
